Who we are

Who we are

Lions Krav Maga is the the winner of the Best of Austin award 4 years in a row, offering our members the most effective self-defense, fitness, and fighting training available in the United States.

Lions offers classes 7 days a week for adults and children.  Our classes are offered at the most convenient times possible.  Our adult classes are offered before and after work, over the lunch hour, and on weekends.  Our Krav Junior classes are offered in the late afternoon (after school but before dinner!) and  on Saturdays.

A physically safe place to do emotionally dangerous things. An emotionally safe place to do physically dangerous things.

Lions operates out of an empowerment model. This model reformulates  self-defense training to prioritize not only survival of violent attacks, but also emphasizes giving each person the tools they need to feel safe, strong, and self-assured. Our classes are conducted in an environment where everyone once was a beginner. The unique atmosphere and camaraderie that students experience when training together and trusting each other cannot be beat.

The Lions Commitment

We agree to facilitate the technical, tactical, physical and mental growth of each and every one of our students, regardless of age, ability, or background, in a safe and respectful training environment.

Technical Skill:  Krav Maga is a unique and logical system of self-defense and fighting skills. There are no traditional or sporting elements in Krav Maga. All of its training methods are based on the adaptation of instinctive responses through principle based learning. The result is skills that become practical in a short time and that are useful under stressful conditions.

Tactical Expertise:  From the moment you start training in Krav Maga you will learn how to handle situations ranging from street muggings to sexual assaults to protecting your loved ones.  Whatever the situation you may face, we have the solutions for confronting it.

Physical Readiness: Because  Krav Maga is a self-defense system, it is important to have good physical fitness, including strength and stamina, to further help your abilities to deal with any threat or conflict. You do not have to be in good shape or fit when you start training Krav Maga, but with each class you take your physical stamina, core strength, and overall fitness will improve.

Mental Strength:  In every conflict there are mental elements. In addition, mental capabilities and resources are needed to deal with the stress that the event puts on you. Not all conflicts become physical, but every conflict requires you to make quick decisions in adverse conditions.  We will instill in our students the self-confidence and inner strength necessary to win the fight in any type of conflict.
