Important Schedule Updates – Effective February 1!

NO MORE RESERVATIONS!

We are no longer requiring students to make reservations in the majority of our classes!

Now that we have been in our new space for awhile, we have determined that the reservation system is no longer necessary in most classes since our mat spaces are large enough to accommodate large class sizes.

The only classes that require reservations are Heavy Bag and Steel Mace classes. Otherwise, don’t worry about making a reservation – just show up ready to work!

CLASS CHANGES

STEEL MACE TRAINING

Different weights and hand placement will increase the challenge as you progress.

We are excited to launch our Steel Mace program! Our instructors were certified in Steel Mace & Body Weight Training under founder of Viking Ninja, Esik Melland, who is a true visionary when it comes to helping athletes hit peak performance. But what is Steel Mace? So glad you asked!

Because the mace is heavier on one end of a long lever, the weight displacement makes it highly effective at activating stabilizer muscles, increasing grip strength, and building overall strength and endurance, which will all be beneficial to your training.

FIGHT TACTICS

We have a few updates with our Fight Tactics program in the new schedule. Fight Tactics classes focus on what happens after the initial self defense technique has been executed so that you are able to maintain control of the situation if the attacker continues to fight. There will be 3 different Fight Tactics classes, each focusing on a different element of the fight.

Fight Tactics: Stand Up
The focus of this class is on the fundamentals of movement, strikes, and defenses that are accessible to all levels. You will learn punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and how to defend yourself against all of the above.

Fight Tactics: Ground
This class brings the fight to the concrete (to the mats in our case for training). Most fights go to the ground, so it’s important to feel comfortable defending yourself from there. In this class, you will learn how to manage space, submit your opponent using joint locks and chokes, and how to defend yourself from common types of attacks on the ground. This class is open to students of all levels, and beginners are encouraged to attend.

Fight Tactics: Mixed
This class focuses on the transition between standing and the ground. It will have all the elements of the fight – stand up fighting, grappling, takedowns, and ground fighting. This class is open to students of all levels, and beginners are encouraged to attend.
